Ferroalloy Recovery Method From Stainless Steel Slag
Ferroalloy Recovery Method From Stainless Steel Slag
Stainless steel smelting slag is actually the solid slag of nickel stainless steel material or chromium stainless steel material after smelted. There is a certain ferroally contain in the slag because of the different smelting process. It is worthy to extract the ferroally from these stainless steel slag, in addition, it can also reduce the waste of resources, benefitial to environment protection.
The following picture is provided by customer from Shandong, China, which shows the stainless steel slag samples. From the sample, we can see that the ferroalloy mostly takes granular disseminated apperance without corners in stainless steel slag, it has uneven thickness, smooth surface no rust, looks like nickel alloy or chromium alloy.
These two alloy have poor magnetic permeability. It is difficult to obtain good effect by magnetic separation. Then gravity might be an alternative method for the ferroalloy recovery from the smelting slag. Gravity separation is based on the different specific gravity between the ferroalloys and slags without the influence of permeability. Therefore, gravity separation is a good choice for poor permeability ferroalloy extraction.
For the image above stainless steel slag processing, Forui Machinery gives the following ore washing solution: crushing-ball milling-jigging separation, from which you can get a good washing effect, the following picture shows the ferroalloy particles recovered from the stainless steel slag.
